Post Divorce Perspectives

Perspective is key.  I was half asleep on a ride home, listening to a friend talk about navigating her divorce to another friend.  She was in a whirlwind of over complicating her life.

I always tell people, frame of mind before and after a divorce is entirely different.  Everyone thinks they know, but no-one truly 'gets it' until they are on the other side of the divorce.

It is liberating and easier, and "being friends" stops being a priority, even if you do 'get-along.' But, maybe, this is only my perspective.

Pushing past the hard stuff allows for a whole new space to open up.  I understand this from experience.  I live it and emphasize with anyone working through a divorce.

The first year is crucial for healing, exploring, living with freedom, and fun.  The first year you should not get into a relationship.  Do not make any drastic decisions.

Live and enjoy yourself.  Find peace, find happiness, be satisfied with being alone.

Be settled, content and uncomplicated.

Have adventures, travel, make new friendships, be a new version of yourself.  Your better self.

I can 100% guarantee, after one year, you life will look totally different.  You will feel totally different.  And as you reflect, you will embrace your journey with an Independent mind.

Be sure to let go.

Do not attach to the past.  Do not allow anything from who you once were to infringe on who you are now.

Break free of the chains.  Change your heart, and change your mind about what it is you need to be whole and fulfilled.

I can not express how powerful time is and how only time is on your side.  Time is the only thing to heal yourself from the pain of separating or breaking up a family.

Time is your ally.  Take your time.  It is precious and it is important.

Do not discount your ability to grow as a person during this time frame.  It makes a tremendous difference in your perspective and how you choose your future path.

Be kind to yourself, be forgiving and be selfless to others.  The only way to move forward is to move on with the best of intentions, in Mind, Body & Spirit.
