Dangerous Desires

We have all felt strong, unprecedented desires.

It could be sexual, it could be emotional, it could be spiritual.

They are there and they exist.

They are unpredictable.

They are indescribable.

They are unwarranted.

How do we navigate such strong desires?

They force us to care.  They drive us to need. They allow us to open up our hearts.

They can often make us feel out of control.  At times, they seem to leave us powerless.

Desires can be dangerous.

Regardless of how you define desires:
feelings, emotions, wants, needs, passions.

They are real and they can be intimidating.

They leave us craving more. They leave us wondering how anyone could make that much of an impact on our lives.

Desires drive us to greatness.  They also drive us to something other then greatness.  We can feel empowered one moment and helpless the next.  It's these desires that motivate and encourage us as it is always better to feel something then nothing at all.

Being numb is never an option.  It is always a possibility, but why feel nothing? That is probably the worse place to be emotionally. Empty, without hope, simply void of emotion.

Imagine never caring? Or never feeling anything good for another human being.  Even negative emotions are better than feeling absolutely no emotions at all.

Let's have a conversation about the good emotions. The joyful ones, the blissful moments of happiness.  It could be anything, with anyone.

It could be by chance.  A chance meeting, a minute of reflection, a moment of weakness
A good cry at a movie. Laughter so hard we are brought to tears.

It's the deep emotional moments that resonate to remind us we are alive.

We are real.  We are human.

Allowing our deepest desires to be experienced, even if only temporary is often better for our journey of self discovery.  It taps our hearts, our minds and our souls into a new state of awareness and existence.

We must continue to feel and experience new things to change our minds, our thoughts and our hearts to being in an place where we can find our desires anew.

Tapping into our most dangerous desires and being honest about what we want is purposeful.

Dare to own these desires.
Dare to let them make you feel brand new.
